The story of my life

I hate to bore you with details but sometimes people want to know more. I don't want to take up time at the initial consultation talking about myself.  I'd rather you just read the details by yourself so that when we meet we can focus on how to improve your life.

I grew up in Cementon,  Pennsylvania, just outside of Allentown.  Remember the Billy Joel song?  I'm one of seven kids.  I went to Penn State and majored in Biochemistry.  I went to all the Penn State games.  It was a sad day when I learned about the stuff that went on with Jerry Sandusky and how Joe Paterno seemed to let it happen.  After college I worked at a small biochemical company outside of West Chester, PA.  I soon got a better job in Baltimore at a biotechnology company developing medical diagnostic test kits such as a doctor's office strep throat  test.

In 1986 I moved to Atlanta for a position at a small biotechnology start up developing home pregnancy test kits and a doctors office rapid HIV test.   I also bought and ran a small office cleaning and home maid service and did taxes on the side.

Then I met my wife to be, Lori.  She had just started The Bread Market with her dad.  I became very interested in the business and soon became the pastry manager.  I created new recipes from muffins to apple pies.  I eventually managed our one location.

23 years ago I made a career change that I had contemplated for quite some time. I've always loved reading all the how to get rich in real estate books. I had attended a lot of real estate investment seminars over the years including  John Adams' how to buy foreclosures course. I've been a member of the Georgia Real Estate Investors Association and am always looking for good investments.

I never had much regard for real estate agents though.  They were too much like salespeople.  It used to drive me crazy sometimes just trying to find out the price of a home.  They would force you to call them and then they'd try to hook you into using their services.  When I started in real estate, I vowed that I would never be a pushy, obnoxious salesman.  I would be the  agent who provided the information freely and provided all the experience required to make a transaction come together smoothly.  I vowed to make sure that I was knowledgeable about all aspects of the business.  I've never liked to do things half way.  When I do something, I want to do it the best I can.

The Internet has changed how people buy real estate.  I love it.  There's more information for people to take advantage of.  Some agents are scared of losing their control of the information and fear that they will become unnecessary.  Those agents really didn't know what they were offering in the first place.

I have found that even though people have a lot of data, they really don't know how much they still don't know.  They still need an experienced agent to put it all together and make it happen.

I had a client whose parents in Florida had a neighbor offer to buy their home. No real estate agent was involved.  It was a situation where the buyer said "I want to buy your house."  The seller said "OK."  Then they both said "now what?"  It took over a week for an attorney to put together a simple contract.  It made me realize how important agents are in bringing the transaction all together. It's still a people business with personalities and emotions to deal with.

I hope you find this site helpful and eventually trust us enough to do business with us.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Where We Do Business

Our market area is in the north metro Atlanta area.  We service Cobb County, north Fulton County, Dekalb County, Forsyth County and Gwinnett County.  We are very familiar with Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Marietta, Roswell, Alpharetta, Buckhead, and Midtown.

We have sold homes inside the perimeter and outside the perimeter.  We can't know everything so for clients who want to look for property in Peachtree City, Newnan, Stone Mountain, Douglasville, Macon and areas further out we will gladly recommend a good agent who specializes in those areas.

We help buyers negotiate with builders for residential new construction houses. New houses in Atlanta are hot right now. We can represent you in the purchase of your new house built by any of the following builders: Torrey Homes, MDC Homes, Centex Homes, Pulte Homes, Morrison Homes, Ryland Homes, John Wieland Homes, Winmark Homes, Meridian Homes, John Willis Homes, Benchmark Homes and many more home builders.

We can help clients find short term apartments for rent but normally we don't work with clients who are just looking for rentals.  We do help clients find Atlanta condos.  We can also help you purchase HUD homes in Atlanta.  We are an authorized agent with them and have the HUD key to get into HUD homes.  We have access to foreclosure homes that banks want to sell.

We love showing executive homes and luxury homes. We always like to know how people find our site.  Send us an email and tell us which search term you used. Some terms that we might be found by are realty Atlanta, Ga homes, Atlanta realty, condos Atlanta, Atlanta realestate, Atlanta property, houses Atlanta, Atlanta realtors, Ga houses, or realtors Atlanta.  Maybe you found us by typing in Atlanta MLS listings, or Atlanta MLS search, or MLS Atlanta GA. Hopefully we don't come up under nursing homes or funeral homes.

It is always amazing to me how the Internet can allow total strangers to find each other and build new business relationships.  It truly is becoming a small, interconnected world.
