If you've decided to buy a Toyota and are trying to decide on where to buy it, you need to call up Hoa Pham at Sandy Springs Toyota. (404-256-3392) Hoa Pham doesn't play games. www.CarsDirect.com It's interesting to see the differences in prices when you submit a price request through CarsDirect.com. What happens is that several dealers in the area get your request for a price quote and then they compete for your business. For the same car, I had quotes differ by more than $3000. You also have to make sure you are comparing apples with apples. Different quotes vary in what they include in the quote. Armed with this information, I went in to see Hoa Pham. I told him exactly what I wanted. He gave me some good advice as far as what the most popular options are and which ones I would want for best resale price. We went for a test drive. He told me all of the little details about the car. He really knows the product. Hoa Pham checked the availability of the exact car that I wanted and gave me my options. He didn't have a black Sequoia on the lot but he made some calls and was able to locate one at a dealership in Columbus Georgia. He said he could get it up here in six hours, which he did. We talked about price. I wanted the price on the CarsDirect.com site. This is what CarsDirect.com has gathered is the price that these cars are actually selling for in a particular zip code area. I figured that if I could get this price, at least I wouldn't be getting ripped off. By getting quotes from various dealers I could tell that the CarsDirect price is a very, very, competitive price. Even though I told each dealer to give me their best price right up front because there would be no second chances, most seemed to want to play games with the price. Several days after making my purchase, I was getting calls from salesmen saying that they could do better than their original quote. I said, "Too late buddy. I said I wanted your best price without fooling around." Hoa Pham instead, sat down at the computer with me and we got on the CarsDirect.com site. He plugged in the exact specifications of the particular car that was being shipped to the car lot. That is the price that he quoted me. No questions. No additional fees. So simple that I wanted to hug him. I have bought 2 cars from Hoa Pham and my brother in-law has bought one from him. Every time it was a pleasant, no hassle experience. One caveat though. When you go to do the title paperwork, they might give you an opportunity to buy an extended warranty, a prepaid maintenance plan, or a lojack system. You might want to inquire about those items and research them before you get to that point so you'll have time to evaluate whether you think they are worth it or not. I like to analyze and research things before I make a decision and I wasn't prepared to make a decision on those items right then and there.
